Today, we had 7 of our staff’s children join us for Take Your Child to Work Day.
The kids started off with some scheduled activities, but then they started making their own agenda. They had a meeting, and they created a spy mission to solve the mystery of what happened to the training toy stress balls. Janet hosted a design challenge to build towers out of tape, spaghetti, and marshmallows. The kids completed a scavenger hunt to discover items around the office. Genevieve designed an interview tool to find out more about staff members’ favorite ice cream flavors and pets at home, followed by a data visualization exercise in graphing responses. Carol and Shanise gave lessons on phone usage and etiquette. We had many dance breaks and use of toys, just like we do in our trainings. Alex led a goal mapping exercise where everyone drew pictures of what they want to be when they grow up. Everyone helped a little bit to write this blog post, as Gina showed them how we add stuff to our website. We ended our day with an ice cream sundae bar.
